Quality, Service, & Forest Stewardship for Over 100 years!

Over the last three years we have seen the economy slowly improve. In preparation for better market conditions we built the Milan sawmill, which is producing near its target rates, making fine quality Pike Brand hardwoods. As we continue to see improving lumber markets, the need for more capacity is required if we are going to take advantage of a stronger economy.

After several months of preparation, on June 9th, we broke ground on a new warehouse at the Akron facility. The new warehouse will be located just east of the Bin Sorter. The size of the warehouse will be 90’ x 240’ and will hold approximately 750,000 board feet of kiln dried lumber. The new warehouse will give us much needed storage capacity, especially during the peak lumber drying season, May through September, and should improve the efficiency of digging out lumber for customer orders.

If the weather holds up, the warehouse should be operational by October. Along with the new warehouse, there will be a need for a new fork lift, which has been ordered and should be here by the end of the year.
