PIKE NEWS

Quality, Service, & Forest Stewardship for Over 100 years!

When our professional forester comes to your property, the first thing he would like to do is discuss how you use your woods and what your long-term goals are for your woods.

Some of these goals may include better access for recreation, hunting, or creating a periodic revenue stream. After taking some time to understand your goals, our forester will walk your woods. Pike Lumber Company encourages landowners to walk with our forester, but it is not required.

The forester will have a property map to locate the boundaries. He will look for diseased and damaged trees and make note of the species mix and age range of the timber.

After the initial inspection, our forester will make recommendations on what can be done to improve your woods. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and learn possible plans of action. Often, a selective harvest is the best course of action. If so, an offer to purchase will be made.

There is no cost for a woods inspection. Our mission is to educate forestland owners and work with them to accomplish their objectives. Our college-degreed foresters will answer any questions you have and be a helpful resource for your timber management needs.
