The White Oak tree has significant importance in the lumber industry. This tree is fairly tolerant to a variety of habitats, but thrives on deep, well-drained, acidic soils. Successful regeneration of this tree requires full sunlight.

Besides being a valuable lumber resource, White Oak acorns are the preferred food source for wildlife.

Here at Pike Lumber, we make a special product out of the larger logs called quarter sawn lumber. These boards have a more revealing, antique look to the grain pattern.

Due to the high interest for this special product, the current lumber market value for White Oak is at a 20 year high.
